I'm increasingly convinced that Modest Intentions has tracker roots, or at very least is heavily influenced by 1990s ambient trance. That this track has sat in the unrated queue for so long is testament to how under-appreciated this artist is. The drums are way to low in the mix, i feel like the entire mix needs to be eq better on each individual channel. If you want a reference track to judge the mix by, listen to SPY - By Your Side to get an idea on how to make it sound cleaner. Everything sounds like it's been band-passed. Really nice atmospheric/euphoric track here. I like the way you have used the vocal samples, they compliment and sit very nicely with the melodies. I agree with Blueprint to a point, in that the drums could perhaps do with being brought forward in the mix a little. Very nice tune, harmony and atmosphere is heavenly. Lovely melodies and elements. One thing i can fault is the drums being to far back in the mix and generally not very interesting. Overall very nice to listen to Nobody has rated this review yet. |
