This is a truly wonderful piece of music. There, I said it. You don't have to read the rest of the review now; just hit play and then - when you've realised that I'm right - download it for iPod enjoyment.

You're still reading? Okay, well I guess I'd better elaborate a little bit. From the opening chords where the atmosphere is set with gentle sustained strings, simple flute licks and soothing ... More

Keep in mind, this is NOT my style man, but just making this site worth the login haha.
I already know you from other forums and soundcloud. Gotta say, congrats for all your tracks having the same feel, which is almost recognisable if heard one of these on the readio.
For this track I have to say, that it lacks only on drum changes (which is always my main focus tbh...). Watching the song in a ... More

Yeah, not much to review with this track, i don't hear anything wrong with it or something that i would tweak. This tune is just super chilled out and my kind of dnb. And the best part is it's FREE ! Love that sax that comes in later on in the tune, awesome vibes.

Whereas other artists on this site are receiving credit (some of which is undue, in my opinion) for their use of harmonies, Ben Kama truly deserves recognition for mastering layers of tones. There isn't a dissonant note within a mile radius of this track. The interweaving elements of breaks and jazz paint a relaxing scene that is intensely comfortable and harmonic.

It's a pleasure to hear this ... More

This isn't my style of DnB but as said in the other reviews this is a beautiful track. Very summery and uplifting, it kind of reminds me of a 70's track, like something in a movie scene of a guy driving round some mountains in an open top car (very specific imagery i know but that's what it invoked in my imagination).

The instrumentation and arrangement of the music works perfectly with each other ... More

Well constructed, sounds like a musician's dnb track, reminds me of that d.kay individual soul type track.  That is a major compliment.  I think the snare could be a bit snappier but thats nitpicking ;)

Thanks for the download.  I hope 8/10 is okay with you? It's very hard to get a 9 or 10 with me lol.

It took a while to get going but i got  more and more into it as it went on. Some beautiful musical ideas in here, and all the subtle little flourishes that poke through every now and then are wonderful. Im very  much digging your style and will be checking out your other tunes!

Only thing i could say is snare could be a bit snappier. but thats just being ridiculously picky because i cant find any ... More

Yeah brother. Melodies are spot on, sounds are clean. Very low key. You know all this already, no need for me to tell you. What I will say: your drums. Dirty those things up. Sound like they came straight out of FL/Reason etc. Perhaps layer a break behind for my money (a la what you've done at the end). Syncopation is your friend. Lovely stuff, but give me a little more to roll with. Also the ... More

Ben know your music from soundcloud anyway.  But wanted to say this is top quality stuff indeed.  Melodies samples are spot on, sounds are clean. arrangement of the music works perfectly and the drums are very tight.  Everything sits perfectly in the mix..wonderfully uplifting tune for a rainy morning..  Something i could listen to having lunch by the river ..++++++
