Assessment: Amateur
Trifection's level is about the same as the majority of artists on the site. There is potential here and with further work they can improve the quality of their output. This artist has only submitted 2 tracks, so it's too early to tell if that potential is coming through yet.

70 Lovin the chill feel of it, would definitely play it multiple times during a long drive. The intro is pretty amazing, I feel like you could i guess, change the buildup-drop section? It seems like you wanted to go for a suspension drop(rise to silence then drop) but not really? not sure. Love the track overall though, beautiful use of the synth for sure. Good Job. 30 I'm very torn on how to review this track. So for the sake of not being a dick about it, I'm going to review specific aspects of this track. The reason why - you did not do a lot of the basses. I recognize the very first bass in the drop from one of the sample packs I've downloaded in the past. In this specific genre, I would personally say that's a no-no. While I have used, and continue to use ... More sample packs just like everyone else that makes this music does, I do not insert purchased baselines into my songs. Bassline accents? Fine! There's nothing wrong with a 2 second "bew bew bew" sound that you pulled out of a samplepack. But taking a prefabricated bassline, and not so much as even EQing it different, adding a phaser, or chorus or anything to make it a little bit unique or different from what was pulled... eehh there's something wrong with that.
I hate putting your shit on blast like that but I really want to review other aspects of your production and I can't not mention that or pretend like I don't know that you didn't do the bass... BECAUSE - this is a site for REVIEWING.
So I will review your drums, synths, and atmosphere, and structure.
Intro... a little bland but I'm really assuming your new at this. I would suggest that you look up some dimension expanders, and learn some EQ'ing, and don't be afraid to get buck on the MIDI roll with your melody.
Your kick is thumpin which is good, sounds a little saturated and thats okay, but I would experiment with layering snares and claps together for more impact, and to even out the sound of the drums a tad bit.
The drop was completely lacking impact. Experiment with some downpitching some dropping bass effects, and try to fill it out a little bit more. The goal is always to make people go "Oh fuck!"
You did get your structure down. Excellent structure.
So, don't be afraid to experiment with some VST's and keep on workin at it and eventually, you'll be right where you want to be :-) This review is helpful (+1 from 1 person) |

70 Nice work! I like it. Although I felt that the initial bass wobbles after the drop were some what static like. Only right after the drop though. But the rest is nice and smooth. This review is helpful (+1 from 1 person) |
