30 the intro gives you the feeling something big is coming -- anticipation is good. it slowly builds, and then... the drop takes the track in a complete oddball direction. really surprised and really interesting, in a way, but there's a lack of cohesion, especially between the long intro and the meat of the song. the vocal sample is used too often and the song just sort of fizzes out before you ... More could really figure out what it was trying to do. i also think the mix overall is too hot, sounds like clipping at parts, and some more EQ work is needed to get rid of the mud.
i love the full, round bass and the unique character, and the drums are a good fit and really sync with the bass. if you were going for an ironic sort of oddball track, i can see it, but the execution needs a lot of work to make the track a joyful listening experience, regardless of the intended style.Nobody has rated this review yet. |
