A relative latecomer into the game, 35 year old Severity Zero delivers us his unique blend of drum and bass direct from Sydney, Australia. His influences vary from the old, jazzy, latin nuances of bossa nova of his native Brazil to the most modern exponents of liquid drum and bass, such as Calibre, Alix Perez, DJ Marky and Lenzman. A man on a mission, Severity Zero is intent on making his mark on the Drum and Bass scene, be it on home soil or abroad.

blueprint2nd December 2011     100 Review of: Irrational Fear There are so many ways to criticize this track but the bottom line is you guys are over-analyzing this.  I had a chance to rinse it on dnbradio.com and it not only blended really well but it has a nice drive to it that over producing a track can lack.  I will definitely be playing this out again. Kind of reminds me of an older logistics style tune. Nobody has rated this review yet.

Marc Crouch13th December 2010     90 Review of: Lip Service It looks like we're developing a bit of a reputation as a platform for liquid drum and bass rollers, but when the track is this good, who cares? This track gets pretty much everything right: melodically engaging, with the balance of simplicity and variation that allows the tune to carry you along, structurally varied with brilliant strokes of subtlety keeping the ear fresh and perfectly-timed ... More shifts in both beat arrangement and chord structure. The bassline is borrowed straight from London Elektricity while the chord shift has a touch of French house about it. The upshift in the second half with the introduction of the amen is a fantastic example of how to give a tune progression and variety, and at 6 minutes long it almost feels too short. Production is, as you'd expect from the hyperbole I've laid on so far, top notch. There's nothing I can fault here, and for the first time I find my mouse hovering over the 10 on the ratings slider, but for the fact that it's not exactly unique as a track and is, to some extent, Hospital Records by numbers. Yet it sticks somehow, and I'm with Roxy on the replay value of this as I have so far rewound it 3 times just to get another hit. It's very addictive somehow, so whist I can do nothing but strongly recommend to anybody that they check this tune out immediately, be warned that you may well lose a good chunk of your lunch break listening to this. phreddy duce phingaz29th June 2011     60 Review of: Sirocco not really my steelo but she's well thought out.  nice little chill rolla.  nothing to write home about in creatively but i can't fault production...cept maybe bring those tambourines down because they are over powering the track.  bring up the snare or change the snare and add a bit of reverb to give it some bite.  oh, would also, like a bit more bass be it volume or frequency.  but outside of ... More that, good track fi demz what like to chillax. Nobody has rated this review yet.
