Assessment: Above average
Project Nostalgia is a decent producer with potential, whose tracks have received some respectable scores so far but there is still room for improvement. As this artist has only submitted 1 track, it's hard to say at this point how consistent they are.

80 Starting off, that snare is too sick. Really well layered. Really nice ideas in here man, moving away from the need for an LFO wobbles. Lovely melody, the double time bit is really energetic. I get the feeling from the bass line melody and the vibrato that you listented to 16bit - FRZR9000 not so long ago :L Production on this is pretty sweet man, I reckon the kick needs some compressing though to ... More make it punch through. There's alot of melodic interest here, loads of ideas. I think what it needs to finish it off is a good mastering session; stick Maximus on the master track and tweak around with it, (I'll show you when you come round! haha), and it'll bring everything out nicely.
Overall, excellent first track mate, really different and can't wait to hear more! This review is helpful (+1 from 1 person) |

60 I like the ideas going on in this track but it needs a lot of work mix wise. The drums become completely lost when the main section kicks in. You need to bring them out. Try using a bit of saturation, a bit of careful EQing and maybe some gentle sidechain compression on the main melody linked to the kick/snare (stick them both in one bus to do it). I disagree with Benjii, this isn't something ... More you can fix in the mastering stage (in fact you should never really try to fix things in the mastering phase, always do it when you're mixing the track).
That being said, i do like both the chord progressions and the layered sounds of the main section. With a bit of work it could sound really nice. Keep it up!This review is helpful (+1 from 1 person) |
