70 hard hitting and intense. the structure of this track is excellent and has a lot of variation to drive things forward. the samples intensify things and are well placed and interesting. my biggest criticism is in the production -- the intro is squeaky, and the overall EQ on the track is really crushed -- there are few deep lows or high highs. musically, it's really impressive, and as a track by ... More itself the mid-heavy EQ is somewhat of a style choice, but i feel like it detracts. it would probably prevent me from picking this up for a DJ set since it would be such a contrast to other tracks that had a wider spectrum of sound represented.
i will point out that the grunge and grain in the track are well suited and not where my criticisms are aimed -- i like the rough, edgy sounds -- it's more about the lack of dynamics in frequency. you can do rough and edgy but still have a polish to it.
overall, really good track that just needs some engineering, in my opinion. This review is helpful (+1 from 1 person) |

55 Review of: NueroI think this is pretty cool. It's got a unique sound, and it's well produced. The only problem is the mastering. The drums seem to get drowned out, and don't carry the song quite as well as they should, specifically I'm talking about the kicks. This review is helpful (+1 from 1 person) |
