Review of: Endless Nights

Lovely oldskool vibes going on throughout this track, both in terms of the tune itself and the production values, which have that pleasantly soft, somewhat lo-fi and slightly loose quality of earlier drum and bass. Stood next to modern productions this would sound woolly but it works beautifully in this instance, and the tune still carries enough punch to light up the speakers. It might benefit ... More from a slightly snappier snare, and the bass does carry a bit of the unwanted variety of distortion, but I'd put those in the minor category of critique.

It doesn't win any points for originality, and I'm not sure it has a great deal of commercial appeal next to modern drum and bass, but just because something borrows from the old ways doesn't make it bad. This isn't vintage by any means but although it's hardly going to stick in the memory and/or incite demands for a replay, the time it spends on your record player is time enjoyably spent.
