80 I love it. Yeah, things could be tweaked, like a bit more on the low end, but as a whole it is a dope experiment that reminds me of ed and optical while still sounding like its own thing. Nobody has rated this review yet. |

80 Here's one for the other producers and nerds out there: a very well-produced, technical impressive and structurally fascinating experimental slice of dnb that is a welcome change from the headbangers when such a change is needed. There's a lot to admire about this track. The drums are exquisite; fantastic choice of kit, snappy snares, twinkly hats, meticulous attention to detail in their ... More programming, they carry the track with unbridled confidence, maintaining the flow and the interest with clever little reverse samples and filters here and there. The bassline - if you can really call it a bassline - rather unusuall dominates the extremities of the stereo plane, and hovers in and out of focus like an ethereal mosquito, creating an atmosphere that is at once hypnotic and slightly unsettling: a delicious combination.
Structurally the track ebbs and flows with maturity and panache. I should level a criticism at it for being repetitive, but somehow it never actually gets boring, which is just how good experimental music should be.
Criticisms are generally hard to dream up with this track. It's definitely not going to be to everybody's taste due to the nature of the piece, but I think most people can appreciate the art and technical mastery that has gone into this and enjoy its subtle flavours on some level at least.Nobody has rated this review yet. |

60 Its 1;30 mins and it sounds like the track is going somewhere but it actually isnt. You tried to make some beat edits and shuffles but it cant keep my attention enough. The bassline is too repetetive and stays the same throghout the hole track. Also the atmospheres sound litle bit too drown out and quiet but maybe its just because im listening on shitty headphones atm.Another thing is there isnt ... More some sort of hook/lead sound that could surprise or make the track a little more musical/interesting/not so generic. Otherwise production sounds tight and everything has its place in the mix.Nobody has rated this review yet. |
