Artist scorecard
Assessment: Amateur
Aze's level is about the same as the majority of artists on the site. There is potential here and with further work they can improve the quality of their output. At the moment this artist is pretty consistent, which shows they have mastered their current level quite well. If they push themselves they should start improving even more.
- Consistency: fairly consistent

80 Very very nice, the energy that exudes from this track keeps me connected and makes me replay it.That piano makes the magic in here (or i am to much of a piano lover, but i really enjoy the sound of it in ur track ),adds a bit of sensibility to the song which makes it lovely. Good ... More Luck!xxxThis review is helpful (+1 from 1 person) |

70 I reviewed the original of this track, and wish I could remember the exact details now... but since I can't, I'm going to just review this as if it were a completely unheard track. The intro is fantastic, brilliantly atmospheric buildup, great pacing, lovely melodic arrangement. Thank you for not using a kick roll; the filtered break buildup is so simple yet infinitely less cheesy than the kick ... More roll, as this tune proves. The bassline is great as it was in the original version, and the tune benefits from it being more of a central figure this time round (I do remember it was a bit shy in the last version of this tune). Structurally it works well too, at just the right length for what is essentially a listening rather than dancing tune. The only thing that lets it down really is the general lack of low end warmth, particularly on the drums but to some extent on the bass too. The kick could do with a meatier thunk to give the track a bit more energy, particularly on the drop where the bassline is already rolling and so the impact has to come from the beats. The lack of low end makes the whole tune feel a little cold, which holds it back from being a really top notch production. Musically too, the piano gets a little overplayed after a while; I think a different choice of instrument in the second half would have helped but it's a bit of a minor point and possibly just my personal taste so I won't let that influence the rating much.
In all, a really nice piece of music that other producers could learn from in terms of musical ability, but you could learn from other producers in terms of adding that missing warmth to really make this tune shine like the diamond it promises to be.This review is helpful (+1 from 1 person) |

60 You seem to think more like an artist than a DJ. That can be a twofold thing in this kind of music, as it is very dancefloor-oriented, and the DJ-friendliness (or unfriendliness) can make or break a track. The melodic intro doesn't make it easy to mix, but works very well when listening to it. Some of the brass is sounding very synthetic, and I'm not a big fan of that. The piano that works as the ... More main melody is definately a good addition, and I can hear that you've put a lot of work into the violin instrumentation. The bleepy synth I'm not a big fan of as it seems to be little cheesy on the melody somehow.
Swapping off the amen after the lead-in is maybe an artistic choice, but because of that the build-up sounds massively more promising than what it actually is.
Mixdown sounds good to me. Maybe the main drum hits (K+S) could be higher in the mix, take up the position that they need in such a powerful track.Nobody has rated this review yet. |
